North Mumbai Deanery Report - Nov 2019

The BCS units of the NB Deanery had our meeting on Thursday 28th Nov. 7pm at O.L. of Victories.  Mahim. 

We had a good attendance of 39 members representing 7 Units.

The meeting also was graced by the presence of our VP,  Mr. Bento Lobo and Secretary General Mr. Vinod Noronha. 

The meeting began with a prayer, followed by a welcome and a brief introduction by all present.

Thereafter, each unit representative read the report of the activities held by them for the period from Aug to Nov 2019.

The VP,  Mr. Bento Lobo then briefed us about the Academic Awards and the Sabha Day 2020.  He also stressed on conducting membership drives in our units and said that collectively we have a target of 1 lakh members for the Sabha.

He also encouraged all units to have programs on Environmental issues and especially on plastic . E waste and tree plantation. 

The Sec. Gen. exhorted all to get involved in Social, Civic and Political issues besides doing our regular activities. 

He also briefed us on the BCS orientation program held on 23rd Nov and gave the handouts on the BCS vision and mission Past and Future.

Ms. Rita D'sa our Ex. President spoke about the Paralegal Volunteer 4 days training program to be conducted by the Canossa Convent Annexe in collaboration with Mumbai District Services Authority at their office in Bandra west. The training will be on civil law, criminal law, family law and various other law pertaining to women and children and those marginalized from our society, visit to the to police station, jail, and court. At the end of the training the member will be given an ID card by the Mumbai District Service Authority. Those interested in this training  with a view of creating awareness and reaching out to the poor and need by giving services could  contact Ms.  Rita D'sa

The next NB Deanery will be tentatively held on the 12th March 2020 at Our Lady of Lourdes.  Sion.

The meeting ended with a vote of thanks to all present and the OLV unit for hosting the meeting to the Sec. Gen and VP of the Deanery. and a prayer to the Almighty
